About JJ Beasley, MS RD

JJ's Nutrition Journey

Growing up in Colorado I was always doing something outside and heavily involved in sports. This is where I became accustomed to the needs of athletes at high elevation. During my sophomore year of undergrad, I became more interested in and drawn to the field of nutrition. During this time, I also started to develop my own health problems that affected all aspects of my life preventing me from living my fullest life. These personal health problems helped to kickstart me onto the path I’m on today.

I have always had a passion for science and food. I love the concept that nutrition can have either the most beneficial or detrimental impact on both athletic performance and overall health. As I started to get more competitive in college athletics, I noticed the impact of eating certain foods before a competition or meet had on my performance.

My professional experience began after receiving my bachelor’s degree in business management & international business at Oklahoma State University. I went on to complete my master’s degree in Nutrition and my dietetic internship at Boston University.

Today I am a Registered Dietitian and I serve as a performance dietitian at the University of Georgia in their Olympic Sports department. Since starting my nutrition journey I have worked with hundreds of health & wellness companies on social media, counseled all kinds of amateur, collegiate, and professional athletes as well as people who are just looking to improve their overall health & body composition. Whether assisting an adult with weight management or educating an athlete on what to eat to improve their performance, I have a passion for helping others achieve their goals and teaching them how to make healthy eating a part of their daily lifestyle.
